Rho Gamma Gamma | Message from the Basileus
The men of Rho Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated welcome you to our website. Since March 1, 1987, the men of Rho Gamma Gamma have encapsulated our beloved fraternity’s Four Cardinal Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. The strength of our chapter lies not just in numbers but in the diversity of our membership. We have over 160 brothers of various ages and professional backgrounds in military service, law, medicine, engineering, entrepreneurship, technology, finance, politics, law enforcement, education, and non-profit leadership.
We continuously strive to help those within the community. Our monthly Food Pantry feeds 300 to 400 families, our OMEGA Y.E.S. Mentoring Program mentors young men between the ages of 13-18, and our newly formed STEM committee mentors young men in science, engineering, technology, and math, and our clothing donations help support Margaret’s Village for Battered Women’s and Children’s Shelter. Our Winter Extravaganza Ski Trip, Champagne Saturdays, and other events fund our annual college scholarships and other chapter initiatives.
On the evening of November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was founded inside the Science Building (later renamed Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. The founders were three undergraduates— Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper, and Frank Coleman. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just. Since its humble beginnings on the Howard University campus, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity continues to be on the front line, leveraging its power, influence, and more than 100 years of commitment to the uplift of our people and our communities. Please continue to explore our site and learn more about Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and the men/story of Rho Gamma Gamma Chapter.
Sincerely,
