RGG Talent Hunt Competition

The Rho Gamma Gamma Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly announces its Annual Talent Hunt Competition on Saturday, March 23, 2024. This competition continues a distinguished legacy of tribute to youths in the arts by our beloved Fraternity. Categories of competition are Instrumental Solo (Classical, Semi-Classical, Jazz, Gospel), Vocal solo (Classical, Semi-Classical, Jazz, Gospel), Piano solo (Classical, Semi-Classical, Jazz, Gospel), Dance Interpretations (Modern, Jazz, Tap, Liturgical) and Dramatic Interpretations (Poetry, dramatic reading, monologue, etc.).

This competition is open to all currently enrolled high school students (grades 9 – 12). Qualified students compete for performance scholarships totaling over $1000 in cash prizes. The Rho Gamma Gamma Chapter Talent Hunt competition will be held on March 23, 2024, at Gwendolyn Brooks High School, 250 E. 111th St., Chicago, Illinois. The winner will then compete at the 87th Annual 10th District Meeting April 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Talent Hunt Applications and Parent Release Forms may be downloaded and distributed at the below link.  Applications should be completed and forwarded by email to talenthunt@rhogammagamma.org.

• All presentations including instrumental numbers must be memorized and must be dignified and in good taste.
• All performances must be “single performer” acts.  Duets, trios, quartets, etc. are not eligible.
• Track music may be used for accompaniment as long as there are no lead instrumental or background vocals included on the track. The track must be submitted to the Talent Hunt Chair in .mp3 format.
• Contestants in the instrumental, piano, and vocalist (including those using Track music) categories must provide 3 copies of sheet music to the judges. Sheet music can generally be obtained via the internet. Contestants in the Drama category must provide scripts for their speech.  Dance contestants have no requirements for sheet music.
• All contestants must submit a Parental Consent Form.
• Performance may not exceed 6 minutes without penalty.
