In 1984 through 1985, the Omega Expansion Committee was formed to bring forth a graduate chapter that would encompass the 33 fraternity brothers interested. These 33 brothers became financial brothers at-large during this time. Eventually, Rho Gamma Gamma was formed, and they received the charter March 1, 1987. Rho Gamma Gamma has been a pinnacle chapter in the city of Chicago ever since. To see the list of Thirty-Three (33) charter members, please click here!

In the early 1990’s, Rho Gamma Gamma became a chapter on the move with progressive and innovative ideas. During this time the Omega Cultural Center (OCC) had been purchased. The OCC was center stage for the “Invest in Yourself”, Job Fair/Career Development, “The House is on Fire”, and “Support the Troops”.

“Invest in Yourself”:
  Profit Opportunities
  Real Estate Investments
  New Rehab Loan Programs

Job Fair/Career Development:
  Summer Jobs
  Permanent Employment
  Educational Counseling
  Interviewing Techniques

“The House is on Fire”:
  On Site Fire Insurance Coverage
  Minor Home Repair Advice
  Renter’s Insurance

“Support the Troops”:
Discussions amongst the Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends of the soldiers in the Gulf War

In recent years, as well as the past, the chapter has been very involved with Community Service Projects. Things like: Turkey Drives for Thanksgiving, Clothing Drives for the winter, and Toy and Gift Drives for Christmas. We've also been involved with the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois, the March of Dimes Association, the James Jordan Boys and Girls Club, and just being strong black men of influence in our own communities and at our places of employment.

An example of Rho Gamma Gamma chapter practicing one of the Cardinal Principles, Scholarship. The chapter selects six high school students every year to receive the Cornel A. Davis Scholarship Award. Each year high school students apply for these scholarships by submitting an essay on a selected topic. The competition is great, and we have tough decisions to make, but we select four winners every year.

Lastly, Reclamation! Brothers, if you are in Chicago, you are more than welcome to attend a chapter meeting. Meetings are held every Second Saturday of the month in St. Ailbe’s Catholic Church (91st & Stony Island - Chicago) lower conference room area at 5pm sharp. Rho Gamma Gamma loves to have fun, but we are about the business as well. Come dwell with us.
